Aichi Prefecture has an established reputation as a principal　location for cultivating matcha green tea where Ishikawa　Seicha, father and son, have been growing tea for 40 years.　As the first producer of matcha ingredients to achieve Organic　JAS Certification, its teas have won many awards, including　the prestigious Prime Minister’s Award on several occasions　for which only one tea grower is nominated each year from all　those in Japan.

言わずと知れた抹茶のブランド産地「愛知県」。手つかずの山を切り拓き、有機茶木を植え付けた土壌を父から子へ引き継ぎ40年。抹茶原料農家として有機JAS認証を日本で初めて取得。全国の茶農家から年に一軒しか選出されない内閣総理大臣賞をはじめ、品評会などでも多数受賞している。

GYOKUROESQUE　– Kabusecha

The delicate needle shape of Japanese green tea leaves is seen as a mark of beauty and quality; the leaves in this tea have been hand-selected with tweezers in order to ensure the finest possible tea. *Kabusecha = “covered tea” made from leaves protected from sunlight in order to restrict photosynthesis and thereby achieve a particularly delicate flavour.

茶葉の形状が針のように細く繊細に整えられているのは、日本緑茶の美しさと品質の証しとされています。可能な限り上質なちゃばを厳選するために一つずつ手摘みで収穫されています。*かぶせ茶とは、特徴的な繊細な味わいを実現するために光合成を抑え、日光から保護された葉を使って作られた「覆い茶」のこと。

有機栽培　高級抹茶

Made with 100% ichibancha ( “first crop tea” ) leaves, which have been nurtured with great care at an altitude of 650 m. *Matcha = finely powdered Tencha green tea (Tencha; please see below)

標高650mで丁寧に栽培された一番摘み茶100％を使用。*抹茶＝碾茶を粉上にしたもの。(碾茶については食べるお茶を参照ください。)

有機栽培 碾茶

Made from leaves before they are milled into matcha, this tea has a wonderful sweetness and can be eaten raw. *Tencha = leaves grown under large awnings to enrich their flavour, and then dried and finished thus avoiding any creasing.

挽いて抹茶になる前の茶葉から作られているため、甘みが強く、茶葉そのままを美味しくいただけます。*碾茶＝抹茶の原料。風味を豊かにするために、大きな日よけの下で育てられた葉を、乾燥させしわにならないように仕上げたもの。
